Podcast
Resilience does not always manifest as a display of strength; often, it looks like showing up broken but continuing to take steps forward. Recently, I had the privilege of joining Heather N. Wilde on her podcast for an incredibly honest and healing conversation, one of the most profound discussions I’ve experienced. We explore the theme of the book “Almost Miracle Years” and what it truly means to choose life after enduring significant loss.
During our conversation, we explored various topics that center around this journey:
· Living Through “Almost Miracles” with My Children: I shared moments of joy that emerged in crises, highlighting how even in the most challenging times, there can be glimpses of light and hope.
· The Daily Work of Resilience: We discussed the everyday effort it takes to get out of bed, to choose joy when it feels impossible, and to remain present despite distractions.
· The Raw, Unedited Version of Grief: I opened up about my decision to share the unfiltered aspects of my grief journey, emphasizing the importance of authenticity in healing.
· Finding Beauty in Life’s Worst Moments: We reflected on experiences like having a hospital Halloween, navigating college applications, and maintaining birthday traditions, all of which have helped me find beauty even in my darkest hours.
Humor and hope are present in my story, particularly now when they are often needed most. I want listeners to understand that my story is not a tragedy; instead, it’s fundamentally a story of love.
If you have ever experienced grief, nurtured love, or wondered how to keep moving forward when the way seems unclear, I hope this episode resonates with you.
You can listen to our conversation here: LinkedIn. If you haven’t yet, my whole story is available in “The Almost Miracle Years”, which you can find on Amazon.
A heartfelt thank you to Heather for creating a space where truth can flourish and reminding me and many others that the journey towards healing begins when we feel truly seen.
